Coir Board golden jubilee celebrations begin

KOCHI: The three-day golden jubilee celebrations of Coir Board were inaugurated by the Kerala Governor, Mr R.L. Bhatia at the Central Coir Research Institute (CCRI), Kalavoor in Kerala's Alappuzha district.

The inaugural function was followed by various technical sessions. At this session, to be continued on August 12, papers on various subjects related to coir industry will be presented by experts, according to an official release.

On August 13, the golden jubilee day, Mr Mahabir Prasad, Union Minister for SSI & AR, will give away the Coir awards instituted by the board. The Kerala Chief Minister, Mr A.K. Antony, will preside over the function.
