2-day tourism meet in Mangalore

MANGALORE: A two-day national seminar on "Emerging trends in tourism sector" will be held at Srinvas College of Hotel Management in Mangalore from August 13.

Mr Abhijith Mukherjee, Principal of the college, told presspersons here on Tuesday that nearly 500 delegates from Chandigarh, Pune, etc. including the tourism secretaries of Karnataka, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu are expected to participate in the seminar.

Stating that the objective of the seminar is to create awareness about the tourism industry and its components, he said it would also study and discuss the benefits of tourism in a region and discover new ideas and strategies for its promotion.
