Kerala suspends MoU

Our Bureau

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The State Government has decided against acting on a memorandum of understanding it had signed with a Chennai-based company for installing a string of FM radio transmitters to broadcast educational programmes based on school syllabi.

The Director of Public Instruction has been asked not to proceed further in the matter "until further orders" in the light of "allegations against the promoters of the Silicon Valley Corporation", the suppliers of transmitters.

The project had envisaged setting up hundreds of transmitters to broadcast pre-recorded lessons for the benefit of school students.
