Sarnoff to ramp up Bangalore centre

SARNOFF Innovative Technologies, a subsidiary of the US-based Sarnoff Corporation, is planning to ramp up its Indian technology innovation centre to 250 staff in a couple of years.

According to Dr Satyam C. Cherukuri, President and CEO, Sarnoff Corporation, the company wants to not only work on market intelligence and develop business plans for its customers but also develop and deliver technology products through flexible business relationships with customers.

Mr Cherukuri expects the India centre to pick up speed and deliver the whole innovation cycle from Bangalore.

"In India, Sarnoff will focus on computer vision products, silicon IP, digital video and audio products, and medical products," Dr Cherukuri said.

These would include auto safety and surveillance and security technologies, new features in consumer products such as cellphones, digital video products, medical products including registration, stabilisation and image quality technologies, said Dr Ashok N. Prabhu, Managing Director, Sarnoff Innovative Technologies.
