The Hindu Business Line : Boat show registrations in Kochi

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Organisers of the India International Boat Show (IIBS), 2004, to be held in Kochi from October 8 to 10, have reported encouraging response to initial market efforts.

Among those who have confirmed participation are Gulf Craft and Mantech Generators from the UAE; Fairline Boats from the UK; Kingfisher Marine from Thailand; Tritex Equipment and Simpson Marine from Singapore. A host of Indian players such as C-Map India, Samudra Shipyard and Wadia Boat Builders also have confirmed participation.

A concerted buyer promo campaign is already under way, which will be capped by road shows in Sri Lanka and Maldives, apart from domestic destinations outside Kerala, the organisers said.

The show is being held at the International Convention Centre, Le Meridian, Kochi, and has received offer of support from the Southern Naval Command, Indian Coast Guard, Cochin Port Trust, Cochin Shipyard, Cochin Yacht Club, Inland Waterways Authority of India and the Kerala State Inland Navigation Corporation.
