Godrej Consumer studying opportunities in SAARC region

GODREJ Consumer Products Ltd (GCPL) has said it is studying opportunities offered by the various bilateral treaties proposed to be entered into by the Government.

The company does perceive a good opportunity in the SAARC region, GCPL's Executive Director and President, Mr Hoshedar K. Press, has said in the company's annual report.

In terms of an outlook for the current fiscal, the report points to the fact that GCPL's product portfolio ensures to a great degree that it is reasonably insulated from any developments that are perceived to negatively influence the FMCG sector. "This is because in the toilet soaps category the company backed by its extensive distribution network believes it enjoys significant growth opportunity. With our low market share, the potential to grow is huge. Additionally, GCPL has developed a high degree of expertise in vegetable oil procurement," the company said.
