Philips launches auto solutions

New Delhi , July 20

AIMING to make a mark in the domestic automotive industry, Philips India on Monday announced the introduction of a range of solutions from the parent company's international portfolio.

The solutions include an analog car radio chip, car access and immobilisation solutions to reduce the risk of car theft and vehicle networking solutions. The company also presented a range of automotive lighting solutions for the domestic market.

According to Mr Drue Freeman, Vice-President, Global Automotive Marketing & Sales, Philips Semiconductors (a unit of Philips Electronics), the Indian automobile market is poised for growth and will drive growth for the semiconductors segment.

"Currently, the Indian semiconductors market is growing at about 18 per cent. As the India automobile market matures, the Indian consumer will look for more and more features in his vehicle. We are looking at partnering with local companies for supplying our solutions and are in talks with various companies for the same.
