BPL Mobile gesture to Kumbakonam fire victims

IN an effort to reach out to the families of victims of the Kumbakonam school fire tragedy, BPL Mobile, a mobile telephone service provider in the Tamil Nadu circle, has launched a fund raising initiative called `Idayathilirundu Initiative'.
The company, on its part, has made a contribution of Rs 25 lakh towards the initiative. The fund mobilised through this effort will be handed over by the end of this month to the immediate family members of the tragedy. It had also extended communication support and physical help to the victims' near and dear.
Mr R. Ramesh, Deputy Chief Operating Officer, BPL Mobile (Tamil Nadu Circle), in a release, while sharing the grief of the victims' family members, said BPL Mobile subscribers in Tamil Nadu could donate by typing FUND (space), the amount and send it as an SMS to 666. Commencing from Monday, BPL Mobile will also put collection boxes at its galleries across Tamil Nadu to enable people deposit their contributions to the fund. BPL Mobile subscribers outside Tamil Nadu can call their respective helpline numbers for this purpose, he added.
