Idea Cellular install sixth mobile switching centre in Pune

MUMBAI: Idea Cellular Ltd has installed a new mobile switching centre (MSC) in Pune, its sixth in the Maharashtra and Goa circle.

The new switch, installed at a cost of Rs 15 crore, will support an additional four-lakh customers, the company having over one million subscribers currently, said a news release from the company.

The new MSC will be extended to Kolhapur, Nashik, Aurangabad, Ulhasnagar and Bhiwandi.

Idea has over 500 cell sites in the circle, and aims to put up an additional 80 by the end of August this year.
