Dhanalakshmi Bank outsources ATMs from Euronet

Kochi , July 6

DHANALAKSHMI Bank on Tuesday said it would completely outsource its ATM services and requirements from Euronet Services India Ltd.

The Thrissur-based bank will be the first in South India to opt for end-to-end outsourcing and deployment, comprising site selection, implementation, installation, maintenance and managed services, to enhance its presence and brand across the region.

Euronet would provide the bank asset management services, which would include procurement of ATMs, VSAT, UPS, air-conditioners and ATM site construction, for which the bank would only make monthly service charges. Euronet would also manage the entire ATM backbone, network installation and management.

The service provider would also extend its leading switching software, Arksys. The ATM management services would include cash management, cash replenishment, helpdesk, first- and second-line maintenance and all other ATM operations, a press release from the bank said.

Said Mr Loney Antony, Managing Director of Euronet: "Euronet has just completed its first full year of operations in India and the Dhanalakshmi Bank deal is a manifestation of our success." Apart from the backbone, we would also provide card management, including issuance of ATM debit cards and its management through the VISA gateway.

To begin with, 100 ATMs will be outsourced to Euronet. Dhanalakshmi Bank will also connect to Cashnet, which operates around 3,000 ATMs spread across 200 cities, through a tie-up with leading banks such as IDBI Bank, UTI Bank, Citibank and Standard & Chartered Bank.
