THE third in the series of pre-counselling guidance sessions for students aspiring to join professional courses, organised by The Hindu, will be held in Visakhapatnam on Tuesday.
The second session of the `Workshop on engineering and medical careers' in Hyderabad on July 4 attracted a large number of students, who were hoping to perform well in the upcoming EAMCET (Engineering and Medical Common Entrance Test).
Chaired by Prof C. Subba Rao, Chairman, Andhra Pradesh State Council for Higher Education, the workshop was divided into two sessions - one for engineering and one for medical.
Andhra Pradesh, which has witnessed a proliferation of engineering colleges in recent times, offers around 65,000 to 70,000 seats.
The number is expected to go up to around 80,000. Several experts from the education field shared their experiences and offered tips to students who were all `ears and questions' at the Hyderabad event.
Vijayawada hosted the first of the pre-counselling guidance sessions, being held in Andhra Pradesh.
