Farm credit viable only if given on time: Nabard chief

AGRICULTURAL credit is a viable proposition, provided timely credit is given to farmers, said Ms Ranjana Kumar, Chairperson, National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (Nabard).

Delivering a lecture on `Visions that inspire people and transform systems' at the Centre for Management Development here, she added that it is but natural that agricultural credit is an important issue in India as a significant proportion of the country's population live in rural areas.

Outlining some of the qualities of a good leader, she said that the ability to empathise with and motivate people is crucial leadership skills.
