Rubber Prices flare up further on active buying Our Correspondent
Kottayam , June 17 PHYSICAL rubber prices flared up further on Thursday. The gap between the demand and supply positions widened on continuous covering purchases and sheet rubber RSS 4 closed at Rs 65 against Rs 64.50 a kg on Wednesday. Monsoon rains continued to disrupt the tapping process putting further pressure on production. The futures market also recorded smart gains with improved volumes. The near-month July delivery was quoted at Rs.64.75 (63.39), August delivery at Rs 61.21 (60.12), September delivery at Rs 59 (58.49) and October delivery at Rs 58.05 (57.69) per kg for RSS 4. At Bangkok, RSS 3 was steady at Rs 61.88 as on Wednesday. The TOCOM July futures for RSS 3 improved to 154.2 yen from 152.3 yen a kg. The Thursday spot market rates per kg were as follows: RSS 4 Rs 65 (64.50); RSS 5 Rs 62 (61.25); ungraded Rs 61 (60.50); ISNR 20 Rs 57.50 (57.50); latex 60 per cent Rs 47.50 (47.50).
