Indo-French workshop on groundwater dynamics in Hyderabad

HYDERABAD: Indo-French Center for Groundwater Research (IFCGR) at the National Geophysical Research Institute (NGRI) here is organising `Unesco regional training workshop' on groundwater dynamics in hard rock acquifers during June 17-21.
Prof. K. Harinarayana, Vice-Chancellor, University of Hyderabad, will inaugurate the workshop, which has attracted participants from water related ministries and universities from Kyrgystan, Kazakhastan, Pakistan, Iran, Afghanistan, Kenya, Nepal and 19 Indian participants.
The Indian contingent would be from the Ministry of Irrigation and Water Resources, Central and State Groundwater Departments and Universities, according to a release from NGRI. The IFCRG has completed a pilot project on groundwater management in the weather-fractured acquifers and has evolved a model. The present workshop is planned to transfer technology in groundwater. Faculty from the IFCGR, NGRI, BRGM, France, and the UNESCO would share their expertise and experience.
