Pvt sector participation in road sector to continue: Baalu

Our Bureau

Coimbatore , June 15

PRIVATE investment in the road sector will continue to receive attention, according to the Union Minister for Road Transport and Shipping, Mr T.R. Baalu.

"The private participation will be there until such time the Government had surplus funds to invest on road projects," he said while addressing presspersons here.

The non-resident Indians' investment in road development could be greater possibility but his department could neither go in search of them nor it could hold any road shows for this purpose, he added.

With regard to the implementation of the `golden quadrilateral' projects, the Union Minister said 95 per cent of the project would be over by December-end.
