MR Ravi Kant, Executive Director, Tata Motors will be the Chairman of Daewoo Commercial Vehicle Co Ltd, renamed Tata Daewoo Commercial Vehicle Co Ltd (TDCV) since acquisition by the Tatas.

While Mr Kwang-Ok Chae is CEO & President, Mr Praveen Kadle, Executive Director, Tata Motors, has been appointed as a Director to the board of TDCV. Alongside, Tata Motors also disclosed today TDCV's introduction of the heavy-duty truck, Novus, in the Korean market.

According to an official statement from Tata Motors, the Novus offers high performance, environment-friendly electronic engine, new-look cabin and several other convenience and safety features. Its engine can meet Euro 3 standards in international markets.

"Starting this July, `Korea 2004' - an environmental regulation to be applied to medium-heavy duty trucks and buses - will ban production of vehicles that mount normal Euro 2 engines. This standard is more rigid than Japan's and is similar to Euro 3,'' the statement said.
