Public Sector Banks Coimbatore SBI's guide role By L.N. Revathy
The bank has engaged professionals for offering advice. Hailing the effort, the module's Deputy General Manager Mr W. Chanti Babu, told Business Line that the response was phenomenal with over 3000 students and 47 colleges participating in the camp. The bank, according to him, was trying to reach out to the people in semi-urban centres such as this hosiery town, about the courses on offer, the future prospects and the colleges offering the different courses. Professionals from different walks of life spoke about their experience and suggested the courses/combination of courses that students could pursue. Meanwhile, the bank identified 300 candidates for extending the financial support. Stating that the bank was contemplating engaging students (who have availed themselves of the educational loan from the SBI) in summer internship programmes, both in the bank as also recommending them to its corporate clients, he said that this kind of support would motivate them to perform better.
