Chennai , May 31 HINDUSTAN Lever Ltd (HLL) on Monday launched a campaign to save water with its Surf Excel Quickwash, a detergent that the company claims produces less lather while washing clothes, reducing the consumption of water by 50 per cent. HLL is backing the campaign with an independent research study by Chennai-based C.P. Ramaswami Foundation. At a press conference, company officials demonstrated the low-lather quality of Surf Excel Quickwash compared with its competitor, Tide. The company has also tied up with actress and social activist, Ms Revathi, for the save water campaign. The study, released by the C.P. Ramaswami Foundation, has been brought out with the objective of finding solutions to save water.
