Mergers & Acquisitions Lason to be acquired for $30 m Our Bureau
CHENNAI: Lason Inc, a provider of information management and business process outsourcing services, on Friday said that an affiliate of the Charterhouse Group is to acquire it for approximately $30 million. A communiqué from Lason said that it expects the existing management to continue operating Lason and to have an ownership interest in Charterhouse affiliate. The transaction, for which Charterhouse would pay $0.125 per share for 100 per cent of Lason's shares, is expected to be complete in the third quarter of calendar 2004. Lason India, with about 1000 employees and using approximately 4,000 persons in partner companies in the country, provides outsourcing services for several industries including publishing and healthcare.
