Research facility for advanced genomic studies

ENTREPRENEURIAL companies doing high-end research in bio-technology can look forward to tapping research infrastructure being set up in the Capital.
The Institute of Genomics and Integrative Biology (IGIB) has partnered with the US-based investment entity, The Chatterjee Group (TCG), to set up genomic application research facility at Okha, New Delhi.
The Centre for Genomic Application's research and development facility will be used as a shared resource for all research centres in the country, according to a communication issued here.
Set up through a 50:50 financial participation between IGIB, an institute under the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) and TCG, through its Institute of Molecular Medicine - the facility has an estimated project cost of Rs 25 crore.
This investment would be shared between TCG, the Department of Science and Technology and CSIR.
The technical and research support will also be provided by CSIR and DST.
