Mumbai , May 26

SUN Pharma's plans for the world's largest generic drugs market, the US, has received a fillip with two of its factories receiving a clearance from the US regulatory authorities.

The company's bulk actives plant at Panoli, that manufactures the ingredients that go into medicines and tablet-making plant at Halol were inspected and cleared by the US-Food and Drug Administration (USFDA), the company said on Wednesday.

With the recent approvals, Sun Pharma now has a total of three factories that are ready to manufacture for the US, including its Ahmednagar site.

For Sun's Panoli factory, the USFDA approval is the second international clearance, the first being from the European regulatory authorities. Europe-based innovator companies have been sourcing from this plant, the company communiqué said.
