US honour for Sami Labs chief

THE Sami Labs CMD, Dr Muhammed Majeed, has been presented with the Ellis Island Medal of Honor in appreciation of his leadership and contribution to the US industry, according to a company release here.

The medal has been instituted by the US-based National Ethnic Coalition of Organisations. Dr Majeed who heads the Bangalore-based herbal products company is also the President & CEO of Sabinsa Corporation, founded in 1988.

Previous winners of the medal include former US Presidents George Bush and Bill Clinton, singer Frank Sinatra, boxing legend Muhammed Ali, columnist Art Buchwald, Lee Iacocca and Nobel laureate Elie Wiesel.
