Software APC eyes data centres for NCPI solutions V. Rishi Kumar
Hyderabad , May 24 APC, a power management solutions provider, has forayed into the enterprise segment with the NCPI (Network Critical Physical Infrastructure) concept and is set to tap new streams of growing business such as data centres and BPO companies. The Country General Manager of APC, Mr Pankaj Sharma, told Business Line that APC has always been synonymous with the UPS market and has entered the enterprise segment with various products and solutions. With the NCPI solution, the entire design and infrastructure are designed and deployed by APC. Considering growing number of data centres, the current trend shows that companies are taking to this approach seriously. This integrated solution offered by APC in the form of ISX (InfraStruXure) addresses the problems of power, cooling, rack, manageability and related issues. This is particularly useful for enterprises, as it is also scalable since it is developed as a modular solution, he added. "Apart from having UPS for SMEs and large facilities, APC has an architecture targeted mainly at data centres. Here the NCPI approach for enterprises is something we have been offering globally over the last year-and-a-half." He added: "One way we are building on this new enterprise class solution is by educating the CIOs and CEOs on the advantages of integrated power management. There is a growing demand for this integrated solution among data centres and BPO companies. We are addressing this segment now and expect to expand to other business segments and applications."
