B-school betrayal

This is with reference "B-school betrayal by the numbers" (Business line, May 6). An important aspect of management is control. Auditing is a control mechanism. The subject of auditing is not a compulsory in any institute of management.

The ICAI should take up this issue with AICTE and Government and ensure that auditing is made a compulsory subject to equip future managers better oriented towards control and audit.

ICAI accounts or any other accounts audited /reviewed by one or more charterered accountants or others will always give rise to irregularities' apparent on the face of audited accounts. Total Governance management like TQM is a dire necessity at all non-corporate government entities and certification by external agencies every year, before the year-ends will throw up non-conformities and improvements required in governance management practices throughout the entity.
