ISB to conduct biz course for executives

Mumbai , May 3

THE Hyderabad-based Indian School of Business plans to launch a global executive programme targeted at senior executives of companies that aim to expand business operations in the international market.

The two-week programme called `Managing Young Global Enterprises (MYGLOBE)' would be launched in six countries. Slated to begin from July 12, the first week of programme will be conducted at the ISB campus in Hyderabad from July 12-16 and the next week of the programme will be at INSEAD's Fontainbleau campus in France from August 23-27.

Mr Shyam Vishwanathan, Associate Dean, Executive Education, ISB, said, ``Inspiration for this programme came from the requests made by companies aimed at global exposure and international marketing of their products.''

The programme is being launched in the business schools of five other countries apart from ISB in India in collaboration with INSEAD. Asian Institute of Management (AIM), Manila; Athens Laboratory of Business Administration (ALBA) Athens; Fundacao Dom Cabral (FDC), Brazil; Lahore Institute of Management Sciences (LUMS); and University of Witwatersrand (WITS), Johannesburg.

Mr Vishwanathan told newspersons here on Monday that the aim of the programme is to understand the world from the home country perspective and try to incorporate the world's best practices of MNCs in the companies participating in the programme through local environment input from the local partner and global environment input from INSEAD.

The programme is aimed at the IT, IT services, automobile and automobile components industry. Participants from these companies will benefit from the interactive sessions and research and consulting experience of world-class faculty. ``The common issues facing these countries in the global market could be solved by the insights any country might have on the issues,'' said Mr Viswanathan.

The programme is a part of the Executive Education Programme started by ISB two years back and is similar to the programmes it has conducted in collaboration with Kellogg School of Business and Wharton Business School in the past.
