SSI 11 Ambattur units to get CII advice Our Bureau
CHENNAI: Eleven units in the Ambattur industrial estate will receive expert advice on efficiency, quality and low cost production under a joint programme by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII)-Southern Region and the Ambattur Industrial Estate Manufacturers' Association (AIEMA). Over the next 18 months the CII and the AIEMA will give the cluster of 11 companies technical support on manufacturing excellence, energy management and total cost management, according to a press release from the CII. At the launch of the programme here on Monday, Mr S. Seetharamiah, Chairman, CII-AIEMA SME Cluster Advisory Committee, said that the small and medium enterprises should be cost and consumer oriented to be remain in business. The companies selected under the programme will gain from cost savings, improved product, optimised production process and energy savings, he said. The Secretary, Tamil Nadu Small Industries Department, Mr D. Rajendran, said that the small-scale sector should gear itself to facing global competition.
