Software LogicaCMG to invest $25 m more Our Bureau
Hyderabad , April 29 LOGICACMG, a technology solutions and consultancy corporation, has drawn up expansion plans that includes a new technology campus, induction of over 600 people which would effectively double its headcount in India while laying special thrust on technology infrastructure management for domestic telecom companies. The company is in the process of scouting for another centre and is exploring Hyderabad, Kolkata and Pune. The Chief Executive of Offshore Services, LogicaCMG, Mr Mike Weston, told Business Line that the company planned to step up investments in the Indian operations from $15 million to $25 million. LogicaCMG has zeroed in on remote infrastructure management applications for telecom companies with products and services offerings. "LogicaCMG has now more than 600 people in India, with three offshore development centres in Bangalore and two sales and support offices in Mumbai and New Delhi. The target is to grow the staff strength to 1,200 people by December 2004. The offshore development centres will carry out development and support activities for LogicaCMG's clients in the UK and the Netherlands," Mr Weston explained. " With regard to the Real Time Gross Settlement System for the Indian banking industry, Mr. Weston said, "the RTGS-readiness programme is proceeding well. In addition to the six banks that are already part of our programme, we anticipate four more banks to join by the end of May. We expect that by the end of 2004 a total of 40 banks will be members of the RTGS readiness programme."
