Infrastructure Soma Enterprise completes road project in AP Our Bureau
Hyderabad , April 28 THE Hyderabad-based Soma Enterprise Ltd (SEL), in a joint venture with Limak Construction Industry and Trade Inc of Turkey, has completed four-laning of an 84.5-km stretch of the National Highway 5, which is a part of the Golden Quadrilateral Project (GQP). The SEL Managing Director, Mr Rajendra Prasad Maganti, told newspersons here on Wednesday that the four-laning of the highway between Gundugolanu and Goutami Bridge in Andhra Pradesh, involving an investment of Rs 300 crore, was completed ahead of schedule in a span of 29 months. Apart from laying the road, the project involved construction of 202 culverts, 28 bridges and 11 underpasses. Construction of service roads, footpaths, drains and development of road junctions were also part of the project, the largest contract in terms of length awarded as a single contract by the National Highways Authority of India under GQP. He said that SEL, which commenced operations in 1997, had achieved an annual turnover of Rs 270 crore. The company currently has orders on hand worth Rs 1,600 crore. It was now bidding for more road projects and also hydroelectric power projects. Stating that SEL was one of the fastest growing infrastructure companies in the country, the company Director, Mr Ankineedu Maganti, said that SEL has over 300 engineers and over 8500 skilled and semi-skilled workforce. The company was also having the latest construction equipment.
