Retailing Pizza Corner to spread franchisee outlets Ch. Prashanth Reddy
Hyderabad , April 21 RESTAURANT chain Pizza Corner hopes to achieve 25 per cent growth in turnover during the current fiscal. Pizza Corner's turnover last year, according to market information, was around Rs 24 crore. Apart from opening franchisee outlets in Mumbai and Kolkata, the company is planning to open two more outlets each in Bangalore and Chennai, one more in Hyderabad and one each in six smaller cities such as Vijayawada and Visakhapatnam this year, the Pizza Corner Chief Operating Officer, Mr Parag Datta, told Business Line. He said that Pizza Corner is now planning to spread widely through the franchising route. Currently, the company has 32 restaurants across the country of which only two were franchisee outlets. It was also planning various promotional campaigns to achieve the targeted growth. This month, it has launched campaign called "Eat A Fortune" offering gifts to consumers. As per the offer, valid till May 23, a person buying a combo meal for Rs 170 (Rs 85 per head), consisting of one medium vegetarian pizza, two glasses of Coke and pineapple banana fudge, will get a scratch card. By scratching the card the consumer can win guaranteed gifts from No Marks beauty products and Pizza Corner. In addition, there will also be weekly prizes consisting of Bird mobile Phones from Agrani ISwitch. The bumper draw will be on May 30 wherein three Bumper prizes will be announced consisting of Ford Ikon car for the winner and laptops for two runners-up. The combo meal can be purchased by the customer at the company's `dine-in' restaurants and delivery outlets across the country. Mr Datta said that `Eat A Fortune' was the first in line of exclusive promotions and offers that have been planned for 2004-05. "We will continue our associations with brands such as Ford, ISwitch, Intel, Nestle, Lipton, Coca-Cola in our forthcoming promotions for the year."
