Supply Chain Management Dynamic Logistics to handle imports soon Our Bureau
Pune , April 21 ANOTHER month and the Inland Container Depot (ICD) of city-based Dynamic Logistics Pvt Ltd will gear up to receive imports from across the globe. Currently, it caters only to exports. . Dynamic had applied to air import goods some months ago, and the delay was only because the infrastructure being built in Mumbai was yet to be ready, Mr Praful Talera, Executive Director, Dynamic Logistics, told presspersons here. At present, importers have to clear their shipments from Mumbai. The ICD expects to import about 100 tonnes of goods per month in the initial stages, he said. He said the company had gone in for this value-addition because of the demand from city exporters. In a span of less than two years, he said the ICD had shipped over 3,000 export consignments worth Rs 50 crore, with 42 airlines operational through the ICD. The cargo handled by Dynamic is three times that handled jointly by Nagpur, Jaipur and Guwahati, which have dedicated air cargo complexes, Mr Talera said. Mr Sahasrabhojane, General Manager, ICD, said the exports cargo, which moved in the special customs bonded truck to Sahar Air Cargo Complex (SACC), was customs cleared at Pune, thus requiring no customs check at the airport, and directly went to the dispatch warehouse of the airline, reducing the overall time of operation by 4-12 hours and operational cost by 10 per cent.
