Pre-paid cards for Tata Indicom landlines

Hyderabad , April 8

TATA Teleservices Ltd has launched Tata Indicom PrePay service for fixed wireless phone (FWP) in Andhra Pradesh and Delhi circles. This service will soon be launched across other circles in select cities of Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka.

The pre-paid service complements the Indicom fixed wireless phone now available across eight circles of Mumbai, Maharashtra, New Delhi, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Gujarat. The company plans to extend its telecom services from eight circles to 11 more, including Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, West and East Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Kerala, and Kolkata.

Addressing a press conference here on Thursday, the Chief Operating Officer of Tata Teleservices for Andhra Pradesh and Delhi circles, Dr Naresh Malhan, said the prepaid service would help customers control phone expenses just like with a mobile service.

The customer will be charged a one-time non-refundable registration fee of Rs 2,000 and a deposit of Rs 2,000 towards the LG 340 handset. In turn, the customer will get two free recharge cards worth Rs 540 each towards this purchase. Each recharge card has a validity period of 30 days, with an additional 30-day grace period to recharge. He also gets a free caller ID and national SMS service till May 31.
