Our Bureau

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The State Government has announced free ration for a period of two weeks for plantation labourers in Thiruvananthapuram and Wayanad districts affected badly by the crisis in the sector.

Each labourer family affected by lockout at factories shall be given 10 kg of rice. The required stocks of rice will be made available by the Civil Supplies Department. The necessary funds will be released from the Chief Minister's Relief Fund. The concerned district collector will interact with the Department of Labour to identify beneficiaries, an official spokesman said.
