Software Focus on niche areas, SMEs told Our Bureau
Bangalore , March 25 SMALL and medium enterprises in IT sector seeking de-risking from dependence on US market should develop a good business model based on comprehensive good business practices. This was the recipe offered by a CEO of a European multinational to cultivate small and medium business enterprises for spread of risks; concentrating on niche skill sets to meet the specific requirements of the smaller companies could result in long-term business prospects. Mr Bob Hoekstra, CEO of Philips Software Centre, here exhorted Indian SMEs to look for specific needs of their European counterparts which big companies there do not have. He also cautioned unless there is a compelling reason, European SMEs would not decide in favour of Indian firms
