Telecommunications Bharti Mobile to invest heavily in AP Our Bureau
Visakhapatnam , March 19 BHARTI Mobile Limited, the leading cellular service provider in Andhra Pradesh, is planning to invest Rs 250-300 crore during the next financial year in the State, according to the Chief Operating Officer, Mr K. Srinivas. Mr Srinivas was speaking at a press meet here on Friday after the Visakhapatnam office of AirTel was opened by the Municipal Commissioner, Mr Navin Mittal. The new branch would cater to the needs of AirTel customers in the districts of Visakhapatnam, Srikakulam, Vizianagaram and the two Godavari districts, he said. Earlier, on Thursday, another branch had been opened in Vijayawada for customers in the other coastal districts. He said that with a market share of 25 per cent the company had expanded to 500 towns and semi-rural areas in the State. It had 155 distributors and 20,000 prepaid retail outlets in the State. "Andhra Pradesh and Gujarat are two very competitive markets and we are happy to be the leaders, but still we want to expand and improve the network significantly. We are planning to spend Rs 250-300 crore in the next financial year," he said.
