Pune , March 8 POWER solutions provider Cummins Inc on Monday elevated Mr Anant Talaulicar, one of the two Joint Managing Directors at Cummins India, to head the top slot at its Indian operations. Mr Talaulicar takes over as Managing Director, Cummins India Area Business Organisation, from his predecessor, Mr Ravi Venkatesan, who is now Microsoft India's head honcho. Mr Talaulicar, whose relationship with Cummins Inc began 18 years ago, told the press that he would continue with his predecessor's strategy and vision statement of making Cummins in India a $1-billion entity by 2007. "We are already halfway there ($600 million) in performance and the next few years will be a concerted effort to reaching the target," he said. "In addition to helping the group retain its leadership position in the domestic market, we also want to tap the huge existing opportunity for exporting components, engines and human services like our skill in engineering, financial services and HR to the global entity," he said. Also on Mr Talaulicar's priority list is making Cummins in India the lowest cost player in the market and grooming leaders from all streams of expertise to generate results for the company. A statement from Mr Steve Chapman, President, International Business and Vice-President International, Cummins Inc, said Mr Talaulicar, who has led Cummins Diesel Sales & Services and the Power Generation Business in India, will bring to the organisation his extensive business experience, knowledge of the company's products and his experience at other Cummins business units.
