Hindustan Latex bags industrial safety award

HINDUSTAN Latex Ltd has won the industrial safety award of National Safety Council, Kerala Chapter, for industries other than those in the chemical and engineering sectors in the large industries category.

The company won the CRL Rolling Trophy and a certificate of commendation. The runner-up in this category is Indian Rare Earths Ltd, Chavara, Kollam.

The awards were announced by Mr Babu Divakaran, Labour Minister, here on Monday.

In the chemical industries sector, the winner is Fertilisers and Chemicals Travancore (FACT), while Kochi Refineries Ltd has been placed second.

The Cochin Shipyard Rolling Trophy for the winner in the engineering industries sector has been bagged by ITI Ltd, Palakkad. The runner-up in the sector is HMT Machine Tools, Kalamassery.

In medium-size industries category, Hindustan Lever Ltd, Kochi, has come first in the chemical industries sector, while Synthite Industrial Chemicals Ltd, Kolencherry, has bagged the runner-up award.

In the engineering industries sector, O/E/N India Ltd and Kerala Agro Machinery Corporation Ltd have been selected as winner and runner-up, respectively. In the other industries category, the winner is Patspin India Ltd, while the National Thermal Power Corporation, Kayamkulam, has been placed second.

In the small industries category, the award winners are: Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (chemicals industries), Munnar Workshop (engineering industries) and Carborundum Universal Ltd (other industries).
