According to the State Transport Minister, the vehicle population in the State has gone up to 27.46 lakh as on December 31 last year. Of this, 15,77,033 are two-wheelers. Others are heavy vehicles (2,02,228), buses (88,454), cars (35,949), taxis (92,957), jeeps (71,253), auto-rickshaws (2,99,124) and others (55,390).
