Fair globalisation

This is with reference to "In quest of fair globalisation" (Business Line, February 25). The World Commission on the Social Dimension of Globalisation`s report "A Fair Globalisation — Creating Opportunities For All" has thrown new light on the complexities involved in ushering in a regime of fair and inclusive globalisation. It is clear that the fruits of globalisation have not been shared by all equally.

The weaker class, especially those in developing countries, has suffered from this unequal distribution of wealth.

What the report of the World Commission on the Social Dimension of Globalisation basically points out is that a rethink is necessary on the issue of globalisation. One only hopes that the leaders of the world sit together and address these issues.
