BHEL bags order for hydel project

New Delhi , Feb. 19

BHARAT Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL), the public sector power equipment major, will set up a small hydel power project of 7-MW capacity in Chhattisgarh on a turnkey basis.

Valued at nearly Rs 30 crore, the contract for the Sikasar hydel project (2x3.5 MW), has been placed on BHEL by the Chhattisgarh State Electricity Board (CSEB).

The Sikasar project, located about 145 km from Raipur, is to be commissioned within a schedule of 24 months, a BHEL press statement here said. The company's scope of work in the contract envisages design, manufacture, supply, installation and commissioning of complete electro-mechanical works for the project.
