ST Micro to open third design centre

Hyderabad , Feb. 13

ST Microelectronics, a $7.2-billion semiconductor corporation, is set to commission its third India design centre in Noida.

The company President and Chief Executive Officer, Mr Pasquale Pistorio, will be here to inaugurate the design centre this month and also meet the Government and industry players.

ST Microelectronics currently employs more than 1,400 people in its Indian design centre located in Noida, making it the largest centre of semiconductor design in the country, and the largest outside Europe.

The work carried out in the centre includes designing sophisticated microelectronic devices for use by ST's customers and developing powerful computer software for use by ST designers and managers worldwide, according to a company statement.
