Vizag port Web site launched

Our Bureau

VISAKHAPATNAM: Web site of Visakhapatnam Port — www.vizagport.com - was launched by the General Manager, East Coast Railways, Mr S.R. Chaudhuri, here on Saturday in the port administrative building.

The Web site provides information on dynamically updated vessel position at the harbour, port pricing and facilities, details of stevedores and agents, open tender notices and information on container handling facilities.

Mr Chaudhuri earlier visited the ore-handling complex. It was explained to him by the plant manager that extra rakes should be allotted to the port as the iron ore exports had touched 10 million tonnes during the last fiscal and were expected to reach 11.5 million tonnes by the end of the financial year.
