Kanyakumari tourism

MADURAI: The Union Government has allotted Rs 1.5 crore for the development of infrastructure necessary to give a boost to beach tourism in the Kanyakumari district.

According to Mr Pon. Radhakrishna, Union Minister of State for Road Transport and Highways, the beaches at Muttom and Thekurichi in the district are to be developed as centres for beach tourism.

Discussions have been held with the Union Minister for Tourism, Mr Jagmohan, for releasing of more funds for development of beach tourism in the district, he added, while laying the foundation stone for beach development works at Muttom, recently.
