Parenteral Drugs plans 2 new plants

PARENTERAL Drugs (India) Ltd plans to set up two manufacturing facilities for drugs and pharmaceuticals in Himachal Pradesh and Andhra Pradesh.

While the first plant would be set up in Himachal Pradesh, the second plant would be in Andhra Pradesh, the company informed the BSE on Saturday.

It expects to end the current fiscal, ending March 2004, with a turnover of Rs 175 crore. It also targets sales of Rs 500 crore by 2008, following the commissioning of the two new plants.

With its research and development activities under way, the company is also in the advance stage of clinical trials for its new product, continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis (CAPD), for an economical dialysis. The current year has also seen the company focus its attention on the eastern region of the country, through its new base in Kolkata.
