THE three-day Gitex Hyderabad, which concluded here on Wednesday, has attracted more than 6,300 visitors, registering a 40 per cent growth over last year's tally of 4,500.

Held at the Hitex International Exhibition Centre at Madhapur, the third edition of the expo saw about 80 information and technology, telecom, computer and services companies showcasing their products.

While the maiden edition attracted 2,500 visitors, the second one draw 4,500, recording a 75 per cent jump.

The Dubai World Trade Centre, in association with the Andhra Pradesh Government, organised the annual IT expo.

Briefing newsmen about the expo, Mr Ajay Rajguru, a senior official of DWTC, said the firm had received enquiries from some other States to organise similar expos and events.

He said the third edition saw a growth of 10 per cent in the number of stalls at 80. "The State Government's decision to offer subsidy to Andhra Pradesh companies and the slashing of four per cent sales tax on purchases made at the expo would further trigger interest in the expo," the official said.
