Hyderabad to host stone expo from Jan 31

STONE India 2004, an international stone exhibition would be held at HITEX Exhibition Centre here from January 31 to February 2. It covers different natural stones such as granites, marbles, slate and sandstones, which are used in domestic as well as commercial buildings.

According to the organisers, more than 100 shades and patterns in the natural stone produced in the country would be on display.

They said international markets recognise India as a dominant player and every distributor of stone from countries such as the US, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, China and Japan stock Indian stone in their warehouses.

In Stone India 2004, the biggest companies in stone business from Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Rajasthan are going to display wide range of natural stones.

The exhibition also covers machineries and services connected with stone industry. Quarrying equipment, processing machines and consumables would also be displayed by different manufacturers from India and abroad.

According to the organisers, about 100 exhibitors will display granites, marbles and other natural stones, machines and consumables. A number of International visitors are also expected to attend.
