Joint working group to review AIMA blueprint

Our Bureau

Hyderabad , Jan. 9

THE Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Government of Andhra Pradesh and All-India Management Association (AIMA) have decided to set up a joint working group to review the key recommendations of the association's blueprint that could help create 40 million jobs annually by 2020.

The three parties have signed a memorandum of understanding in this regard here on Friday at the valedictory of the three-day Partnership Summit organised by the CII.

The AIMA report, submitted to the Prime Minister recently, envisaged boosting the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) by up to $200 billion. The consulting partner for the project was The Boston Consulting Group (BCG), while CII was the implementing partner.

The MoU signed today aims at developing a `model State-level implementation plan for translating the recommendations of the AIMA-BCG report.'

The proposed working group would identify key areas that would form part of the implementation roadmap. While formulating a working model, the group would come out with a timetable and submit the same to the task force.

The group would also seek to exchange of information relating to international, national and State-level experiences and translating the same into "actionable policy recommendations".

Mr K. Vidyadher Rao, Minister for Major Industries (Govt of AP), Mr Rajive Kaul, Past President of AIMA and Mr Sunil Kant Munjal, Vice-President of CII, signed the agreement.
