Bangalore , Jan 2

HMT (International) Ltd has received the EEPC trophy for top performance in the export of projects in the southern region during 2000-01.

This is HMT subsidiary's 46th award over the years from apex export bodies for its performance in engineering exports, the company said in a release.

Mr P.J. Mohan Ram, Managing Director, received the award recently from the Union Minister of State for Commerce & Industry, Mr S.B. Mookherjee.

HMT (I) said it has set up many engineering projects and taken up technical services abroad. Its services range from conducting feasibility studies, design and engineering, technology transfer, turnkey project implementation, maintenance, reconditioning and training for various sectors in developing countries. It has provided services for World Bank, ADB, AfDB, UNIDO, UNDP and the Commonwealth Secretariat.

The company said it has carved a niche for itself in the field of training centre projects. During 2003, it set up the latest centre in Turkmenistan. The Senegalese entrepreneur development centre has become a regional centre in Africa. Some of its other centres are in Indonesia, Malaysia, Mauritius and the Maldives.
