Performance Agri-Biz & Commodities - Gold & Silver Hutti Gold Mines makes record monthly output Our Bureau
Bangalore , Jan. 2 HUTTI Gold Mines Ltd has touched its highest monthly gold output of 335 kg for December 2003. The country's sole gold producer averages an output of 240-250 kg a month. The Chairman, Mr Parasmal Sukhani, said the company was targeting a turnover of 3,000 kg of gold for the entire year ending March 31, 2004. Calendar year 2003 saw a steady growth in production. The company is looking at a total turnover of around Rs 160 crore for 2003-04. This would be well over the turnover of Rs 142 crore it made during 2002-03, HGML officials said. Out of the Rs 50-crore loans it raised through Swarna Patra bonds of the 1990s, the company has repaid Rs 27 crore and it will be exercising the call option for the third series of bonds amounting to Rs 11 crore. Funds have already been allocated for redemption, Mr Sukhani said in a release. Letters have been issued for voluntary redemption of the fourth series of Rs 12 crore against call option due in December 2006.
