Uncertainty continues in rubber market

UNCERTAINTY continued to prevail in the rubber market and the rates closed flat on Friday.

Traders appeared waiting for a clear trend to emerge and the trading activities were in a low profile. Sheet rubber RSS 4 closed unchanged at Rs 53 as on Thursday.

The futures market remained in the better mood on Friday.

The January delivery was quoted at Rs 55 (Rs 54.50), February at Rs 57.03 (Rs 56.87), March at Rs 59.10 (Rs 59.01), April at Rs 61.62 (Rs 61.56), May at Rs 63.14 (Rs 62.93) and June delivery at Rs 64.09 (Rs 63.91) per kg for RSS 4.

The market opened steady and improved towards mid-session. The volumes were moderate.

Spot market rates per kg were RSS 4 Rs 53 (Rs 53.00), RSS 5 Rs 51 (Rs 51), ungraded Rs 49 (Rs 49), ISNR 20 Rs 51.75 (Rs 51.75), and latex 60% Rs 40.50 (Rs 40.50).
