Rubber prices rule steady

RUBBER prices continued to rule steady on Monday. Buyers retreated as selling from certain traders who were in need of immediate cash begun to put pressure on the prices.

According to some sources, major manufacturers are buying from village markets through their purchase agents.

Sheet rubber RSS 4 remained unchanged at Rs 53.50 consecutively for the sixth day on Monday. RSS 3 was also static at Rs 57.33 a kg as on Friday at the Bangkok market.

The futures market showed slight weakness on Monday. The near month January delivery was quoted at Rs 55.15 (55.27); February delivery Rs 57.54 (57.60); March delivery Rs 59.59 (59.71); April delivery Rs 61.75 (61.78); May delivery Rs 62.99 (63.14); and June delivery at Rs 63.89 (64.11) per kg for RSS 4.
